The NJMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival this year will be Saturday, April 5th from 9-5pm at Kean University. We are hopefully going to adopt a specific repertoire list from the MD festival, and want to continue to grow, and eventually have it be a regional/state festival in the future! It is open to all students grades 5-12, up to 12 members in an ensemble, for woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. (No piano solos or jazz bands). The cost is $25 for ensembles and $15 for soloists, with evaluations from Kean University faculty members. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION! Ratings are superior, excellent, very good, good, and fair, based upon a scoring system. They will receive comment sheets, as well as vocal comments from the judges. They will also receive a certificate of achievement as well.
